Fly Fishing in New Hampshire Streams
New Hampshire is blessed with many opportunities to fly fish for
trout in beautiful streams and rivers. Most are freestone streams
that flow freely, only occasionally interrupted by a mill dam, on
their way to the Merrimack or Connecticut Rivers. Many of our trout
streams are fed by springs that provide a cold-water refuge for
trout in both the summer and winter. The New Hampshire Department
of Fish and Game has implemented special regulations to improve
fishing prospects on many streams. These regulations include size
and bag limitations, delayed harvest and catch and release. As more
and more streams fall under special regulations, the fishing has
been getting better and better.
